Barbara D. Mccartney

McCartney, Barbara D. Age 91, of Elmira, NY passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at her home with her loving family by her side. Barb was born in Elmira on August 20, 1932, daughter of the late Charles and Cora (Simpson) Parke. Barb was also predeceased by her husband of 55 years, William McCartney Sr., son, Daniel Cody, siblings, Jimmy Parke, Alice Parke and Dickie Christian. Barb enjoyed being a hostess in her youth for the Colonial Diner & Theater in Elmira. She will be remembered for the love she gave her family and friends. Barb is survived by her children, Coralea Lewis, Michael (Kathy) Cody, William (Cheryl) McCartney Jr. and Anna (Wesley) Hibbard; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Merrick, Annabelle Gaylord and Marjorie Walburn. Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 1pm to 3pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services for Barb will follow at 3pm. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
