"Vern"

Age 91, 0f Elmira Heights, NY passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Vern was born in Elmira on March 14, 1935, son of the late Russell and Evelyn (Vanders) Brown. Vern served his country in the United States Army and retired from Ivy Street Development Corporation after many years of service. He was an avid bowler and really enjoyed meeting up with his bowling friends. He cherished his 1948 CJ2A Willys Jeep and loved maintaining it. He was a wonderful dad and will be dearly missed. Vern is survived by his daughters, Michelle Shipley and Tracy Pierson; sons, Clifford Brown and Michael (Tina) Brown; grandchildren, Nicholas Hoffman, Jessica Brewer, Katherine Coleman, Julian Starkweather, Jonathan Touchton and Tara Campbell; sister, Lucille Smith. Vern's wish was for no services to be held for him and to be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
