Christine M. Beechey

Christine M Beechey Of Elmira, NY passed away at Elcor Nursing Facility on Monday, August 14 2023. Chris was born in Elmira, NY on March 26, 1947 to John and Jane (Grady) Powers. She graduated from Elmira Free Academy. Chris is predeceased by her parents, John and Jane, daughter, Sarah Lynn, and brother, Steve. Surviving Chris is her husband, David whom she married on June 22, 1968; her daughters, Laurie and Susan Lynn, sons-in-law, Terry and Dominick; grandchildren, Katia (Anthony), Jamesilyn (Dakota), Dominick, and Mayla whom affectionately called her nana; great grandchildren, EllaMay, Maizie and Landyn; brothers-in-law, Richard (Paula) Beechey and James (Juliana) Beechey; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Chris worked for over 23 years at the Record Shop in downtown Elmira. She was a 53 year member of Park Church where she volunteered at the nursery for many years. Thank you to the staff at Elcor, which provided loving care in the last years of Chris's life. Family and friends are invited to the James D. Barrett Funeral Home in Elmira, NY on August 16, 2023 at 11 am for funeral services. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials in Chris’s name may be made to Park Church in remembrance fund, or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
