Doris H. Jones

Jones, Doris H. Age 92, of Elmira, NY, passed away at home on Friday, June 5, 2020 with her family by her side. She was born on November 1, 1927 in Daytona Beach, FL to the late Marcus and Ellen (Coswell) Jackson. Doris was predeceased by her husband, William Jones, daughter, Stephanie Jones, brother, Leonard Jackson and sisters, Dorothy Green, Thelma Cook and Senobia Armstrong. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Andrew) Russell and Natalie Jones both of Elmira; granddaughter, Lindsay Bost of Elmira; sister-in-law, Margie Jones of Elmira; cousin, Evelyn Jones of Elmira; special nephews, John and Lewis Armstrong both of Atlanta, GA; along with a host of other nieces and nephews. Doris was a faithful member of Frederick Douglass Memorial AME Zion Church. Family and friends are invited to attend social distancing visitation on Wednesday, June 10th from 11 am to 12:30 pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Adhering to state regulations attendance will be limited to 7 guests in the funeral home at a given time. All guests must wear mask and keep a 6ft distance from other guests at all times. Private committal service will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
