Earl J. Brooks I Age 46, passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2018 in Elmira, NY. Earl was born in Elmira on December 15, 1971, son of Willie and Velvia (Howard) Brooks. Earl is survived by his mother, Velvia Avery; stepmother, Cindy Brooks and his grandmothers, Cora Howard and Mary Brooks; fiance, Antonette Johnson; children, Zhavez Brooks, Letayshia Brooks, Shaquana Brooks, Earl J. Brooks II (Sam) and Anevay Brooks; beloved stepchildren, Marcus Blackman and Halonah Knights (Manny); granddaughters, Ky'Azia Brooks, Nasyah Jackson, Leonna Correa; grandsons, Jermarcus Brooks, Jha'ci Correa and Avontae Wilison Jr.. Earl also leaves behind his siblings, William Brooks Sr., Kimberly Cheatam, Marlo Brooks, Ruth Brooks- Ramsdell (Jeff), Anderson Brooks (Jenn), Mary Brooks and Lacinda Brooks; host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. One family member Earl held dear and close to his heart is Venjara Brooks and Earl’s very close friend, Que Sykes. Earl was predeceased by his, father Willie B. Brooks and his precious granddaughter, Aaniylah Brooks. Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 10 am to 12 pm at the Southern Tier Church Of Christ at 351 E. Thurston St., Elmira. Funeral services will follow at 12 pm. Arrangements are in care with the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Earl hasn't just left his family and friends, but he leaves a whole city of people who loved him dearly.. So as we come to the end of his journey, we will remember him by his beautiful smile, hard fought battles he won and the legacy this great man left behind with us, knowing that he shared his best days on earth with us.
