Gerald R. Brown

Brown, Gerald R. Age 78, of Elmira, NY, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 after a courageous battle with an extended illness at the Robert Packer Hospital. He was born on November 29, 1938 in Elmira, NY to the late John and Geraldine (Bergan) Brown Jr. Jerry was predeceased by his sisters, Ann Cox, Frances Janeski and Karen VanHouten. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Shannon (Brian) Sheehan, sons, Gerry Brown, Daniel Brown and Cole Brown; brothers, Jack and Phil Brown; grandchildren, Danielle, Joseph, Mallory, Alexis and Logan; great grandchildren, Leah and Gabriel; along with several nieces and nephews. Jerry retired as a Correctional Officer from the Elmira Correctional Facility after many years of service. He was an avid golfer and loved his trips to Las Vegas. Jerry also loved to cook and spend time with his family. All services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the dedicated doctors and nurses at the Robert Packer Hospital for the outstanding care given to Jerry. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
