Gloria M. Woods

WOODS, Gloria M. (Yeomans) Age 92, of Troy, Pa., formerly of Elmira, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 17, 2022. Gloria was born in Elmira on April 17, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Norman and Ida Woods. She is predeceased by sisters, Daisy Donahue, Elizabeth Whitford, Ida Mapes, Alma Morrow, Mary Hovencamp, and brother Kenneth Hovencamp. Predeceased by her loving friend and father of her children, Carl L. Yeomans, Jr., and children, Diana Leslie and Gary Lyle Yeomans and Grandson, Timothy Scott Thorp. Survived by her Daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Matthews and the late Bruce Sewell of Columbus,GA., Ellen Lois and the late Howard Townsend of Elmira, NY, Wendy and Harland Frisbie of Cohocton, NY, Evelyn and Robert Semski of Pine City, NY and Sons and daughter-in-law Alan and Karen Yeomans of Troy, PA, Carl L. Yeomans, III of Elmira, NY, 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Gloria retired in 1993 as a Food Service worker at the Elmira Psychiatric Center. Throughout her long life, she held many jobs and took great pride in her work. But most of all, her pride and joy was her family. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend. The family would like to thank everyone who took part in her care during her illness. Family and friends are invited to call at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home at 1004 Lake St., Elmira, NY on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.. Funeral service immediately following at 12:00 Noon. Pastor Dave Wilkerson will officiate. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery in E. Smithfield, PA at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
