(Jim)

Age 76, of Horseheads, NY, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. He was born in Elmira, NY on February 4, 1950, to the late Harold and Agnes (Malanoski) Drake. He was predeceased by his brother, John Drake. James is survived by his daughters, Jessica (Joshua) Peaslee and Jennifer (Daniel) Tomasulo and their mother, Theresa Drake; brother, Jerome Drake; grandchildren, Hannah Tomasulo, Nora Tomasulo, Owen Tomasulo and Piper Sullivan; along with many friends. He was the past treasurer of the Chemung County Sportsman Federation and a past board member of the Horseheads Girls Softball Association. James was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service for James on Friday, August 14th at 10:00 am with Father Scott Kubinski officiating at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Interment will follow in North Chemung Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please hug your family, stay present, take care of yourself, walk in the woods and enjoy nature.
