Janet L. Stanton

Stanton, Janet L. Age 88, of Elmira, NY passed away January 15, 2022 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was born on November 18, 1933 to William E. and Hazel C. Squires. She attended Corning Northside High School. Janet was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Stanton Sr., her son, Joseph Stanton Jr., sister, Valeda Shaffer, and son-in-law, Douglas Learned. She is survived by her children, David (Wendy) Stanton of Pittsburg, PA, Charlene Learned of Elmira, Becky (Alvin) Janowski of Catlin, NY, Jan (Kimberly) Stanton of Elmira, Phillip (Alexandra) Stanton of Ewing, NJ; daughter- in- law, Annajo Stanton of Maricopa, AZ; sisters, Altie Gizzo of Florida and Saralyn Kruckow of Maryland; 14 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. Janet attended North Presbyterian Church for many years and enjoyed working at the food pantry there. Janet honored God by being a devoted wife and a loving mother. A celebration of Janet’s life will be planned for a later date. Arrangements are with James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
