John J. Augustine

Augustine, John Joseph “J.J” Machinist/Welder Was born on June 13, 1974 in Elmira, NY, the son of Dorothy Jean Harris-Jardin and Joseph Adam Augustine. He was battling cancer and passed away unexpectedly on December 13, 2024 at home at the age of 50. J.J. is survived by his beloved Belinda O’Dell; daughters, Jazmon Jacel Augustine and Ona Lynne Augustine; sons, Christian Alexander Stickler and Wesley Warren Koontz; grandchild, Skyona Jayla Lopez-Stickler; siblings, Maribeth (Kevin) Elmquist, Albert Augustine, Scott Jardin, Glenn Jardin and lifelong friend and co-parent, Tammi Stickler; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and countless number of friends. J.J. was very proud of being sober for 18 months and was a very hardworking man who didn’t stop working until he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. J.J. loved fishing, the band Korn, Puma, the Miami Dolphins and so many other things. J.J. had the brightest and most outgoing personality and never failed at lighting up a room or someone’s mood. Most of all though, J.J.’s biggest accomplishment was all 4 of his kids. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service for J.J. on Friday, December 20th at 2 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery. A celebration of life and memorial will also take place on Friday from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at the VFW in Elmira Heights to honor his memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
