John R. Brimmer

John R Brimmer It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, John R. Brimmer, who left us on Friday, November 10th at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was 63 years old. "Brims", as he was fondly called by friends, was born on June 23, 1960 to William Brimmer (deceased) and Nancy Orbanac Brimmer (deceased) in Elmira, NY. He is predeceased by a sister, Carol Jean Brimmer. Surviving him are his loving and caring siblings, Sharon (John) Jackson of Wrentham, MA, Michael Brimmer (Kathy) of Pine City, NY, Barbara (Bruce) Grennell of Horseheads, NY, Mary (Harry) McAlinn of Elmira, NY, and Kathleen Brimmer Needler of Oxford, MA. He had several nieces and nephews who loved him and his sense of humor: Shane (Noelle) and Kyle (Jennifer) Jackson, Kelly (Mike) Booker, Kevin (Lauren) Brimmer, Chelsea and Melissa Grennell, Amanda (Steve) Wright, Tyler McAlinn, Allan and Michelle Needler and several aunts, uncles and great nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life for John at a later date, as was his wish. John graduated from Southside High School and soon after went to work at Elmira Floral Products.  He retired from the Elmira City School District in 2022. John liked the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was also very social and loved being with friends and family.
