John Stermer

John “Zackery” Stermer March 6,1994- December 26,2024 Zack was born and raised in Elmira NY. Zack was predeceased by his father, Thomas E. Stermer, paternal grandfather, Francis “Paul” Stermer and maternal grandparents, Ross and Mary Goodwin, and his special friend, Angel. Zack is survived by his mother Mary ”Shelly” Stermer; sisters, Theresa Stermer, Jessica Stermer, Mary Simpson (Jarad) Stermer; brother, Brandan Stermer; grandmother, Dorothy Stermer and various aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Zack had a love for music which he had a drawer full of small pocket radios, and the headphones to go with them. He had his scarves, kitchen towels, envelopes and a new found interest in pillow cases. He loved to shake them around and get you to shake them too. His laugh was infectious and he would give you a hug. Each of his four siblings had a unique relationship with him. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 3rd from 11 am to 1 pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place there at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Special thanks to the ARC groups of 8th street and Liberty Street for taking care of Zack for over the years and his day program at Able 2.
