Josephine S. Ficchi

Ficchi, Josephine S. Age 87, Of Pine City, NY, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. She was born on September 29, 1931 to the late Frederick and Santania (LaGreca) Hasman. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis Ficchi, sister, Bernadette, step-father, Bernard Links and son-in-law, William Wheeler. She is survived by her daughters; Roseanna Stowits of Denver, CO, Rebecca Wheeler of Horseheads and Bridget (Frank) Dudla of Saratoga Springs, NY; son, Mark (Marilyn)Shaffer of Athens, PA; brother, Bernard (Jane) Links of Lewes, DE; grandchildren, Erin (Tom) McElligott of Melrose, MA and Kelly (Jeff) Cook of Horseheads; great-grandchildren, Thomas McElligott, Kaylyn Cook, Sophia McElligott and Jordan Cook; close family friends, Nati and Fusco Families; her canine companion, Tinkerbell. In keeping with Josephine’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. There will be a private graveside service. Memorial donations can be made in her name to the Elmira Animal Shelter. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Bethany Courtyards for her care these last several years and also to Dr. Corbalan and the staff at the Chemung County Nursing Facility these last several months. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
