Judith A. "Judy" Kent, 71, of Elmira, passed away on November 5, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 8, 1955 in Elmira, the daughter of the late Frank and Alma (Haner) Benjamin.

Judy graduated from Southside High School in 1973.

She worked as a gauger at Anchor Glass and retired after 41 years. While at Anchor, she was the Vice President of The GMP Union, having worked her way up from Union Steward. Judy was also a member of the VFW Rex Field Post #901.

In her spare time, Judy enjoyed reading, going on motorcycle rides and spending time at her camper.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Frank Benjamin Jr., Richard Benjamin and Gayle Conley and her stepbrother, Daniel DeHaas.

She is survived by her children, Timothy Jankowski and Melissa Jankowski (Douglas Preston); grandson, Gavin Fisk; brothers and sisters, Gary (Robyn) Benjamin, Scott (Rachel) DeHaas and Lori (Timothy) Elsbree; several nieces and nephews; her granddog, Valentino; her canine companion, Slick; her life partner, James Hanlon and his son, Kris Hanlon.

Family and friends are invited to James D. Barrett Funeral Home, 1004 Lake St., Elmira on Saturday, November 14 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rex Field Post #901, 115 Keefe St., Elmira, NY 14904 or to the Elmira Animal Shelter, 842 Linden Pl. Elmira, NY 14901.
