Manwaring, Krislyn Lee
Age 27, of Erin, NY, passed away very unexpectedly on Saturday, December 26, 2020 with her parents by her side during her battle with Scleroderma. She was born in Elmira, NY on September 14, 1993 to Vincent and Jackie (Clearwater) Manwaring Sr. Krislyn was predeceased by her grandparents, Clarence and June Manwaring, grandmother, Phyllis Clearwater and uncles, Darwin Manwaring and James Clearwater Jr. She is survived by her parents, Vincent and Jackie Manwaring Sr.; maternal grandfather, James B. Clearwater; brothers, Vincent (Kristin), Nathaniel, Ely and Vance Manwaring; many aunts and uncles (too many to name); special people in her life that were there during her journey, Crystal, Jessica S., Jessica H., Bridget, Kaitlyn, Sharon, Amy, Junebug, Christopher, Angela and Autumn; a special friend that she met who is also battling the same disease that she had, Steven Cabrera and his family. One of her most loved “things” was that she was a Godmother to Maci McCarty and an aunt to Charlie, Leo, Jamie, Miles, Atlanta and Kota Jett. Krislyn was a graduate of Spencer-Van Etten Class of 2011 and was very active in sports and was a member of the Erin Volunteer Fire Department. She had goals of becoming a nurse, but then this disease happened. Her love for special needs children was near and dear to her heart and she couldn’t wait for Camp Star to begin. Krislyn was such a happy and bubbly woman who never complained about “why me”, she always said it is just God’s plan. She cared more about what others were going through rather than herself. The love for her family was enormous and the love for animals, especially, Milo and Nala are what gave her daily peace and strength. Rest in peace baby girl, we will learn from your strength, your dogs and your love of life to help us find our daily peace. The family would like to thank everyone that has helped with all the things that have popped up along the way. A special thanks to Columbia Medical Center in NYC, the doctors, nurses and staff, especially the 11th floor Stem Cell Transplant Unit. You couldn’t ask for a better group of people, you have touched this family beyond words. Donations in Krislyn’s name can be made to Scleroderma Research Foundation, Tanner’s P.A.W.S, Corning, NY or to Camp Star at Watson Homestead. A memorial for Krislyn will be held on Saturday, January 9th from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Breesport Baptist Church, 1811 N. Chemung Rd., Breesport, NY. Services will follow there at 5 p.m. Adhering to NYS regulations, all guests must wear a mask and maintain social distancing at all times. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
