Leonard "Lenny" Robert Danna, aged 70, passed away on August 18, 2024, in Olean, New York after an extended illness. Born on June 2,1954, in Elmira, New York, Lenny was the beloved son of the late Leonard Palmer Danna and Marian Frances (Gunshaw) Danna. Lenny grew up in Horseheads, attending St. Mary Our Mother School and later graduated from Horseheads High School. He embarked on a prolific career in construction and carpentry, leaving his mark across South Florida. His skilled hands contributed to projects at Boca Barwood, C.L. Whiteside Construction, Seasons Development, Woodfield Hunt Club, The Polo Club in Boca Raton, Florida. His talent in form and concrete work rounded out his career working for DJBMAX Inc. Upon retirement from construction, he returned to Horseheads and devoted his time to caring for his aging parents. Beyond his professional life, Lenny was a talented drummer who enjoyed playing with local bands during his early years in Horseheads. His love for music and rhythm was matched by his passion for cars, motorcycles, and boats, making him a well-known enthusiast in these hobbies. Lenny’s talent was surpassed only by his sense of fun and quick wit. His kind heart touched many people during his lifetime. Lenny is survived by his sister, Cheryl Marie Danna and brother, Frank G. Danna, sister-in-law, Lisa Danna of Arizona. His parents, Leonard Palmer Danna and Marian Frances (Gunshaw) Danna preceded him in death. He is loved and remembered by numerous family members and life-long friends. A Mass for Lenny will be held at St. Mary’s Southside Catholic Church, (224 Franklin St. Elmira) on Thursday, September 12 th at 10:00 AM. After Mass his ashes will be taken to St. Peter’s and Paul’s Cemetery where he will rest with his Mother and Father. Following graveside, services there will be a lunch, location to be announced.
