Louise Ellis

Ellis, Louise Age 98, of Elmira, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at home with her with her family by her side. Louise was born on July 16, 1921 in Elmira, NY. She was predeceased by her husbands, John Ellis and Alberto Suarez and her son, Clair Williams. She is survived by her children, Olinda (Willie) Sapp, Victor (Nancy) Suarez and Carmen Murphy; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and loving canine companion “Sophie” and feline friend “Prince”. Louise was a long-time member of Faith Temple Community Church. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, December 30th from 11 am to 12 pm at the Monumental Baptist Church, 1009 Maple Ave., Elmira. Funeral service will take place there at 12 pm. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Yolanda Sapp-Alford (Granddaughter), Victor & Nancy (Son & Daughter-in-law), Joan Sullivan (Aide), CareFirst and Meals on Wheels for all the loving care given to Louise. Memorial donations in Louise’s name can be made to the Chemung County SPCA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
