Lula Givens

GIVENS, Lula Age 93, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 28, 2022. Lula was born in Waynesboro, GA on June 10, 1929, daughter of the late John and Mabel (Rainy) Roberts. Lula was also predeceased by her husband Frank Givens Jr. in 2002. Lula retired from Gorton Coy clothing store in Elmira after many years of service. She was a Missionary Mother for the Monumental Baptist Church and a Distinguished Service member of the Chemung County Red Cross in 1988. Lula is survived by her sons, Robert Givens and Edward M.(Nell) Givens; grandchildren, Michael Givens and Crystal (Justin) Woodard; 5 great grandchildren; special nephew, Anthony Ward; sister-in-law, Mattie Ward; host of nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 11 am to 12 pm at the Monumental Baptist Church on Maple Ave., Elmira, NY Funeral service will follow at 12 pm with Pastor Corey Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery. Arrangements are with the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
