"Peggy"

With heavy hearts the family shares the passing of Margaret. Age 85, of Horseheads, NY passed away on April 23, 2026, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY surrounded by her family. Peggy was born in Elmira on August 9, 1940, daughter of the late John and Agnes (Smith) Rathbun. Peggy was a lifelong resident of Elmira. She attended Elmira Free Academy, where she met the love of her life, William Whitford Jr... Peggy loved to sing in which she sang with the Sts. Peter & Paul's Church Choir. She also enjoyed coloring numerous pictures later in life. Peggy is survived by her loving husband, William; children, William III (Karen) Whitford, Peter (Judy) Whitford, Terry (Mary Beth) Whitford, Michelle (Michael) McGuirk and Todd Whitford; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly with all her heart. Presently, no services will be held for Peggy.
