Maria Derkacz

DERKACZ, Maria Age 81, of Elmira, NY passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021. Maria was born on March 24, 1940 in Bazar, Ukraine. Maria was predeceased by her parents, John and Paraska (Regush) Stecko. Maria retired from Clute Motor’s in Horseheads, NY. She is survived by her sister, Anna and “her favorite brother-in-law,” Michael Goin of Martinez, CA; Goddaughter, Mary Murphy and longtime friend, Sue Kucko. Family and friends are invited to call Friday, May 14, 2021 from 11am to 12pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place at 2:30pm in St. Nicholas Cemetery with Fr. Robert Moreno officiating. Maria’s family would like to especially thank Lisa Sauer of the Chemung County Nursing Facility. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maria can be made to one’s choice.
