Marilyn J. Shaut

Marilyn J. Shaut Age 87, of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. Marilyn was born on January 12, 1938 in East Smithfield, PA, daughter of the late Herman and Hazele (Garnant) Ayres. Marilyn was also predeceased by her first husband and father of her children, William Dickinson in 2016 and her 2nd husband, Ernest Shaut in 2022, son, William Dickinson, grandson, David Dickinson, sisters, Shirley Keller, Carolyn Knight, Mariam Ayres, brothers, Robert, Richard and Duane Ayres. Marilyn retired from Express Mart in Horseheads, NY after many years of service. She is survived by her children, Marcia Dickinson and Robert (Marie) Dickinson; grandchildren, Danny (Jenn) Dickinson, Megan (Rawley Filbin) Dickinson, Elizabeth (Kodey) Clark, Tyree and Julianna Day; great grandchildren, Mason and Oliva Clark and Wyatt Dickinson; sisters, Joan Sweat and Waneta Ashley; brothers, Ronald (MaryJean) Ayres and Larry (Jeanne) Ayres; many nieces and nephews; her dog, Bandit. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid crocheter and knitter who enjoyed making blankets, hats and more for her family, friends and charities, especially the Arctic League. Per Marlyn’s wishes, there will be no calling hours, or services. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
