Marjorie A. Magaw

MAGAW, Marjorie Doty Huntley, Van Amburg Age 93, of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY. Marjorie was born in Elmira on April 21, 1929, daughter of the late Clarence and Mina (Evans) Doty. Marjorie was also predeceased by her brothers, David and Richard Doty, sisters, Margaret Doty Packard and Eleanor Doty Putney, stepson, Daniel Magaw, son-in-law, Robert Fassett. Marjorie was employed at the Keeney Theater as an refreshment counter employee. She worked at many Five & Dime stores, Walnut Food Market and retired from Westinghouse in Horseheads after many years of service. Marjorie is survived by her husband, Elton “Vinnie” Magaw; daughters, Linda Fassett, Laurie Van Amburg-Mott (Mark) ; son, Raymond Van Amburg; stepchildren, Donna (Jim) Dartt, Cindy (Robert) Sterling and Scott (Kathy) Magaw; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 4pm to 6 pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 6pm. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, March 8th at 1pm.
