DeRico, Maria “Mary”
Age 87, of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on August 15th 2021 at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Tuxedo Park, NY. Mary was born on December 24 th 1933 in Brooklyn, NY daughter of the late Domenick and Marie Servedio. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas, son’s James, Nicholas Jr. and Anthony, sisters, brothers and grandson, David Anthony Salvacion. Mary was a lifelong communicant of Sts. Peter and Paul’s Church and an honorary member of NALC Branch 21. Mary loved playing bingo with her friends and traveling with her husband, Nick. She loved Kenny Rogers music, playing games with her sisters and going to Atlantic City. Mary cooked for all the holiday’s and made the best Christmas cookies and apple pie that her niece, Stephanie loved. She loved making the anchovy sauce for her nephew, Tom, along with doing so much more for her family. She adored her grandchildren and her eyes would light everytime she would see her great grandsons. Mary is survived by her daughters, Donna (Robert) Ramundo of Tuxedo Pk, NY, Mary Ann DeRico of NY and Theresa (David) Daniels of Pine City, NY; grandchildren, Jennifer Martini, Peter and Stephen Ramundo, Dominque Salvacion, Anthony Hemphill, David, Joseph, and Maria Daniels, Nicholas (Jodi) DeRico III and Angela, Michelle, Stephanie and Jessica; great grandchildren, Michael Joseph, Logan Nicholas Martini, Maximus James Ramundo and Ryder Joseph Ramundo and Noah Nicholas Daniels, Lotus, Aden, and Viviana DeRico, Demian, Jasmine, Bella, Adeline and Clara. In life, mom loved unconditionally, guided and protected her loved ones with her last breath and will continue to do so in eternity. Family and friends are invited to call Thursday, August 19th from 4pm to 6pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, August 20th in Sts. Peter & Paul’s Church at 1pm with Fr. John Desocio as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
