Maureen E. Jewell

Maureen Leota Evers Jewell passed on to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 13, 2021. She was born March 12, 1933 and was the only child of John Richard Evers and Christina May Mayes. At age 17, Maureen was married to Robert Glen Jewell who predeceased her after 46 years of marriage. Maureen is survived by her sons, Robert (Dawn) Jewell and John (Susan) Jewell and her daughters, Deanna (Gary) McKinney and Joan (John) Santulli and 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Maureen was known by many women as their confidant and counsellor. She sold Avon for many years and worked as a substitute teacher’s aide in the Boces classrooms of several local school districts. Maureen had quit school at age 17 but went back at age 53 and earned her GED diploma. She was a member of both the Friends of the Cross Christian Church and the Central Assembly of God church. Close family will be having a private gathering to celebrate Maureen’s life at a later date to be determined.
