Max J. Temple

Temple, Max J. Age 89, of Elmira, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Williamsport, PA on March 19, 1934 to the late Harlow and Dorothy (Wagner) Temple. Max is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Faye (Morgan) Temple; sons, Scott (Sandra) Temple, Jamie (Paula) Temple, Tim (Ellie) Temple and Derek (LaVonne) Temple; brother, Don (Janice) Temple; sister, Shirley (Artie) Gardella; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. Max was a veteran of the US Marine Corp and retired from the Elmira City School District after many years of service. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, July 21st from 4 to 6 pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow there at 6 pm with Deacon George Welch officiating. Interment with full military honors will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
