Michael C. Letizia

Letizia, Michael C. Age 74, of Elmira, NY, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born on January 17, 1944 in Elmira, NY to the late Alfonzo and Olga (Stanton) Letizia. Michael is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maryann Letizia of Elmira; sons, Joseph (Donna) Letizia of Bucks County, PA, Charles (Lauren) Letizia of Windsor, CT and Christopher (Jodi) Letizia of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Francis (Teri) Letizia of Fort Wayne, IN; sisters, Carolyn (Peter) Romani of Ithaca, NY and Linda (Aaron) Knox of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Jacob, Sarah, Rachel, Alexxis, Allison, Cole and Cassidy Letizia; along with several nieces and nephews. Michael was a past commander of the American Legion Post #154 in Elmira Heights. He was very involved in youth sports in the area, coaching basketball, baseball and football. He was also an avid fisherman. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 24th from 2 to 4 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow there at 4 p.m. with Chaplin Mike Stanley officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
