Reta E. Bennett

Age 73, of Elmira, NY, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was born on August 26, 1953, in Elmira, NY to the late Adelbert and Helen Bennett. Reta is survived by her longtime companion Arthur Tadder; children, Thomas (Courtney Swayze) Martin, Patricia Martin, Christopher (Kelly Loysch) Hollister and James (Virginia Matthews) Hollister; step-children, Daniel (Sherry) Tadder, Emily (Jesse) Ketchum and Arthur Tadder III; brother, Albert Bennett; sisters, Ilene Walters, Iona Hoose and Judy (David) Rundle; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. She loved playing cards, cookouts and Neapolitan ice cream. Reta also loved to play horsehoes, darts, games on her phone and dancing. She was the glue that held the family together and cherished every moment with them. She had a great love for Elvis and her grandchildren were her biggest joy. A celebration of life for Reta will take place on Saturday, October 24th at 2 p.m. at the Monterey Volunteer Fire Department, 1465 South Street, Beaver Dams, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
