Richard W. Layton

Richard W. Layton “PAPPY” Age 78, of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Richard was born in Johnstown, PA on June 2, 1946, son of the late Bert and Emma (Coleman) Layton. Richard served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Steve) Buchalla; grandchildren, Braedyn, Brian, Deverin, Nicole and Demetree; great grandchildren, Archer and Kyler; sister, Lucille; sister-in-laws, Roberta and Carol; many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 11am to 1pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services and military honors will follow at 1pm with Pastor Justin Coffin officiating.
