Robert R. Dietrich Sr.

Dietrich, Robert R. Sr. Age 83, of Lowman, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Elderwood Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born on November 5, 1940 in Blossburg, PA to the late Glenn and Norma Dietrich. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bill and Ronald Deitrick and sister, Barbara Braunbeck. Robert is survived by his son, Robert (Sunny) Dietrich Jr.; daughters, Sherrie (Diana) Dietrich and Elisa (Barry) Craun; mother of his children and dear friend, Sandra Updike Beeman; brother, Don (Susan) Deitrick; grandchildren, Tanner (Melissa) Cantrell, Brandon Cantrell and Logan Cantrell; great grandson, Miles Cantrell; along with several nieces and nephews. He taught history and social sciences at Elmira College and then retired from Trayer Products after many years of service. Robert also owned and operated B-Rite Manufacturing and was a machinist. He loved playing chess, traveling and working on cars. He also enjoyed staying fit by working out and lifting weights. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, March 25th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place there at 1 p.m. with Pastor Justin Coffin officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Lowman, NY.
