Robert E. Weir Jr.

Weir, Robert E. Jr. Age 81, of Chemung, NY, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was born on January 15, 1939 to the late Robert and Mary (Kurzbach) Weir. Robert is survived by his wife, Linda Weir; son, Robert (Kim Hugg) Weir III; daughters, Cindy Jones and Marilyn Shablom; grandchildren, Cliff Shablom Jr., Brianna Shablom, Morgan Shablom, Kaylea Weir and Michael (Jill) Jones; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Ava Jones. Robert was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from the Elmira Correctional Facility as a correctional officer. He was also a member of the Elmira Elks Lodge #62. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, October 31st from 1 to 3 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow there at 3 p.m. with Pastor Justin Coffin officiating. Interment will take place at Woodlawn National Cemetery at a later date. Adhering to NYS regulations, the number of guests at one time are limited and all guests must wear a mask and maintain social distancing at all times.
