Ruth C. Buchholz

Buchholz, Ruth C. Age 93, of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Corning Center in Corning, NY. Ruth was born in Williamsport, PA, on February 1, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cora (Trick) Blitz. Ruth was also predeceased by her husband, Frederick Buchholz Sr in 2005. Ruth worked for Swiftz Meat Packing in Elmira for many years. She was a long time auxiliary member of the Elmira Heights American Legion Post# 154.Ruth is survived by her son, Frederick Jr. of Elmira; daughters, Cheryl DeGraw of Florence, SC and Candice Williams of Elmira; grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, William and Christina: great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Jessica, Olivia, Emma, Thomas, Christopher and Amber. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Ruth on Friday, March 30th at 12 pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Holder officiating. Interment will follow in Forest lawn Memorial Park.
