Sharon M. Champion

CHAMPION, Sharon Age 76, of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Sharon was born in Corning, NY on December 12, 1947, daughter of the late Leon and Verna (Clark) Sturdivant. Sharon was also predeceased by her husband, Lester Champion Sr. in 2019, son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Elizabeth Champion. Sharon will always be remembered as a wonderful wife to Lester, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was gifted a great grandson, Atreyu Champion which she loved dearly and provided her undivided attention too. Sharon is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Champion; son, Lester Jr. (Amanda) Champion; grandchildren, Lester III, Jessica, Noel, Monica, Jonathan, Brian, Britany, Zander and Alexis; Many great grandchildren; sisters, Nellie VanAmburg, Thelma Carmell, Waneta Bump and Sandy Farrell; brothers, Leon (Rebecca) and Edward (Emily) Sturdivant. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service for Sharon on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 10 am in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are with James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
