Sherman L. Martin Sr.

Age 66, of Elmira, NY, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, August 21, 2026. He was born in Elmira, NY on January 23, 1960, to the late Sherman H. and Shirley (Wood) Martin. Sherman is survived by his sons, Sherman Martin Jr. (Jennifer Perry) and Shawn (Nickie) Martin; daughter, Emily Kuhnel; brother, Tracy Martin; sisters, Sheila and Shelley; grandchildren, Charisma Martin, Lucas Moore, Landon Moore, Abigal Grebleski Gabriella Gillette, Maddison Williams, Keagan Williams and his all-star favorite, Miyanna Martin; along with several nieces and nephews. Sherman was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, trap and trout fish at Catherine Creek. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service for Sherman on Wednesday, August 26th at 11 a.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
