Mitchell, Shirley L.

Age 98, of Elmira, NY, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was born on February 7, 1928, in Elmira, NY to the late Harry and Sarah Wilcox. She was predeceased by her husband, Oran Mitchell, sons, Franklin and Kevin Mitchell, brothers, Robert, Larry and Richard Wilcox and sisters, Frances Wolfe and Maureen Weaver. Shirley is survived by her son, Wayne (Deborah) Mitchell; daughter, Cheryl Kosloski; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Mitchell; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; along with several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service for Shirley on Friday, November 13th at 2 p.m. in Woodlawn National Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
