Theresa C. Diliberto

Diliberto, Theresa C. Age 98, of Elmira NY, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, 5th floor,in Elmira. Theresa was born on July 16, 1927 in Elmira NY, daughter of the late Pasquale and Lena (Muccigrosso) D’Onofrio. Theresa was also predeceased by her late husband, Jack Diliberto Sr. in 2011, sister Rosalie Losito, brothers, Daniel and Anthony D’Onofrio. Theresa and her husband, Jack competed and were champions in many Jitterbug contests through the years. She loved teaching and singing Italian lullabies to her grandchildren. St. Joseph’s SNF staff often commented on her beautiful singing. She was known for her Italian baking of Biscotti, Cuccidati and Anise bread especially during Christmas holidays. She shared her love of crocheting and knitting with her daughters and granddaughters as well. She will surely be missed by those that knew her. Survivors include her daughters, Patricia (James) Minotti and Anita (Serfino Jr.) Minotti; son, Jack (Michele) Diliberto Jr.; grandchildren, Christina, Carrie, Jack-Dominic (Rachel) Diliberto and great grandchildren, Aria Jae, Mia James and Veda Jack Diliberto; (Christina) Alena Emanuel - (great great grandchildren Aleciess and Zepphaniah); many nieces, nephews, cousins, and sister-in-law, Joan (Cavaluzzi) D’Onofrio. The family wishes to thank the staff of fifth floor SNF at St. Joseph’s Hospital as well as Dr. Parker and Dr. Corbalan for their excellent care and family support. Family and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Tuesday, July 29, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am with Fr. Scott Kubinski as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
