Theresa M. Olmstead

Theresa M. Olmstead Theresa Marie (Bacon) Olmstead, 70, of Horseheads, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, at her home. She was born Jan. 21, 1952, in Elmira, the daughter of John C. And Orella Bacon. Theresa attended Elmira Free Academy and Corning Community College and retired after 30 years of nursing at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. She is survived by her sons Kevin (Meredith) Olmstead of Middletown, Va., Martin Olmstead of Cincinnati and Brian Olmstead of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; brothers John M. Bacon of Atlanta, Edward Bacon of Woodbridge, Va., Thomas Bacon of Horseheads; sister Elizabeth Sturgill of Horseheads; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Bacon of Elmira, and two other brothers who died in infancy. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home, 1004 Lake St., Elmira. Memorial donations in Theresa's name may be made to the charity of your choice.
