Virginia M. Butray

Butray, Virginia “Ginny” (Kent) Age 92, of Horseheads, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Absolut Care of Three Rivers. Ginny was born on December 11, 1931 to the late Mary (Sullivan) and Dean Kent. Ginny was artistic, beautiful, clever, funny and a loving daughter, mother, wife, aunt, cousin and friend. She was a very talented artist who helped establish the Horseheads Art Guild. She always enjoyed sharing her joy of painting and the arts. Ginny was predeceased in death by her parents, husband, Edward and brother, Kenneth. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Richard) Roark of Ocala, FL and Patty (Steven) Frey of Hammondsport, NY; granddaughter, Bailee Lusk Roark and grand dogs, Lilly, Leo and Tobie; along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved, especially, Barb Matteson and the adventures that they shared together. We are especially grateful to Lisa, Tammy and Hailey and Marsha Feshoe for the friendship, wonderful care and the companionship they gave to our mother. We would also like to express our gratitude for the care at Three Rivers and Corning Hospital that was provided to our mother. A celebration of Ginny’s life will occur at a future date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
