William B. Mccartney

MCCARTNEY, William B. Sr. Age 85, of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully with family by his side on Monday, September 20, 2021. William was born on May 19, 1936 in Kistler, PA, son of the late Ira and Anna Mary (Walker) McCartney. William was also predeceased by his sons, Daniel Cody, Gregory and Raymond McCartney, brothers, Sonny and Buck, sister, Jeannie and his beloved cousin, Bill Querry. William retired from the Chemung County Solid Waste Facility in Elmira after many years as a truck driver. William was known to many as a jokester and an avid outdoorsman. He will be missed by many. William is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara (Parke); children, Coralea Lewis, of Elmira, Michael (Kathy) Cody of Deland, FL, William B.(Cheryl) McCartney Jr. of Elmira and Anna (Wesley) Hibbard of Wellsburg, NY; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place at 3 pm. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
