William G. Shutter

Shutter, William G. Age 92, of Elmira, NY passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Elcor Nursing Facility in Horseheads, NY. William was born in Tioga, Pa on October 15, 1931, son of the late George and Bessie (Cummings) Shutter. William was also predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Mary Lou, granddaughter,.Stacy Titus. William served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Howell Packaging in Elmira after many years of service. He is survived by his children, Debra Sherman, George (Becky) Shutter, Michael (Judy) Shutter, Donna (Richard) Wandell and Timothy (Brenda) Shutter; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren,1 great-great granddaughter. along with several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 11am to 1pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow there at 1pm with Pastor William Vallet officiating. Internment will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery with military honors.
